New York Times Orwellian NewSpeak

Word “bestseller” used to mean something that sells the best. Based on this definition, Ted Cruz’s book “A Time For Truth” which sold 11,854 copies in its first week should be in the third place. That’s more than 18 of the 20 titles that will appear on the bestseller list for the week ending July 4. But, according to the NY Times unwritten rules, his book will not be included in the list of the top 20. According to the Orwellian NewSpeak, “bestseller” now means what NY Times thinks it means.
